On July 19, 1967, just a few days after the outbreak of the Nigerian Civil War, ITN correspondent Sandy Gall entered the newly declared secessionist Republic of Biafra as Nigerian federal forces advanced toward the strategic cities of Nsukka and Enugu. Gall documents the tense but defiant mood within Biafra as federal troops press in from the north. He interviews Biafran soldiers and officers, who speak confidently of halting the federal advance and defending their homeland at the Nsukka front.
