Diaphyseal fractures are less common than proximal femoral fractures, but they can also happen in the elderly following low-energy trauma such as a fall from standing height. Fractures of the diaphysis of the femur often present with associated injuries, and thorough physical and radiologic examination is advised. Common associated injuries
