On a regular SSS Strat it gives the ability to blend between stock SSS and HSH, using the second tone pot as the blender and just wiring mods (so you have everything you need already on your pickguard).

Jul 20, 2016 · I just changed my wiring harness on my MIM Strat with HSS. The humbucker is putting out 7.3K currently. This comes with CTS 250K pots. I'm changing the Humbucker to a Suhr Thornbucker+ (Pete Thorn's pickup) when they are released to the public which is 8.4K. If the stock 250K pots are doing the job with your hot pickup then a 500K isn't needed.

Feb 12, 2014 · One thing I would add is I do think that the caps themselves are important as well. In my Les Paul I bought a vintage wiring harness with high end tone & volume controls. They (*Tundratone.com) used new old stock paper in oil tone caps. The guitar came from the factory with those cheezy skinny ceramic tone caps.

Jun 27, 2019 · The earths (ground) are connected to the base plate and the white and green show the coil impedance, my question is can i get phase reverse with this wiring and what effect (if any) would it have on the pickups tone. Pickups are measuring around 9.5k. Any glimmer of light will make this numpty mechanical engineer a wiser man.

May 7, 2021 · I ground trem claw directly to output jack as it's easier to swap pickguards with just the output wires to the volume pot needing soldered. Less disturbance of wiring. Actually at the moment I have my output jack with a two wire quick connector and same wired to volume on pickguards as I was swapping a lot while experimening.
