Only by doing this on a plasma display, you greatly reduce the motion blur in a wait-and-hold type device and generate all the thousands of grayscale shades required by varying the pulses of light (brightness) per frame.

Aug 28, 2024 · The image produced by my plasmas is IMO aesthetically better than my C2 Oled. I had the two sitting next to each other for a month and realized almost immediately that the plasma appealed to me moreso than the oled. That said, for the "modern gamer" who wants HDR and 4K the oled is the easy choice but for everything else I will take the plasma.

Nov 26, 2021 · Excluding array dimming, plasma still has better contrast than most displays, can be calibrated to be accurate, and of course, I'll repeat the motion clarity argument (which is what really matters in gaming - in my opinion). If you don't care about BFI or motion clarity, then a newer display will probably be up your alley.

Aug 23, 2024 · It would be used for some time until I got 24" S-PVA - which I didn't particularly like so I replaced it with 23" c-PVA panels which was atrocious so would be replaced with 24" A-MVA and it was also atrocious. I would also get 37" 1024x720 plasma display which I loved. Each LCD here would be few months. That 24" S-PVA was used for more than a year.

Jul 10, 2011 · So, if your room is excessively bright, a plasma may not be for you. Plasmas double as space heaters. Seriously. My room is a solid 3-5 degrees warmer with it (50") on. This leads to another issue: they are inefficient. My plasma uses more power than my computer does unless it is running something like Furmark, Prime95, Metro2033, etc..

Plasma cannot scale down very well and maintain a high PPI relative to LCD screens for instance. A 24 inch plasma screen cannot have a resolution of 1920x1080. Even a 30 inch I believe is not big enough to do so.
