Epiphone also makes a P90 Classic that when used on a solid body tends to provide a driven Strat sound, but still definitely P90 tones, but when on one of the Casino's it sounds different. My most recent Epi is a 2020 Wilshire, with P90 Pro's in a similar layout to the LP Special.

There's the 650R and the 700T (these are ceramic magnet pickups that are used in the cheap guitars, and are actually pretty good pickups). Then there's the '57 Alnico Classic and the '57 Alnico Classic Hot... in covered and uncovered flavours. HOTCH = Hot Chrome as opposed to HOTG = Hot Gold.

Aug 30, 2008 · I have heard lots of criticism of the stock pickups, but to me for what I play which is blues and classic rock the Epi pickups are just fine. Especially the neck pickup is great. The bridge is a bit biting for my taste, but if I roll down the volume to about 8 or so, or even fiddle with the tone, I get what I want.
