Its had a few repairs to keep it going: rewound bridge pickup, all three pots replaced and a new nut, but everything else is original. I just sent to to Carter Vintage Guitars to be sold. It seems that you already bought the bass you were considering, but here are my thoughts on Bluesman Vintage (aka BMV), based on having owned three BMV bass guitars, of which I still own two. The vast majority of vintage P basses are good ole work horse P basses with "that sound" but nothing "special" about them at all. They are no different from an 89, 96, 2001, or 2022 P bass. Marihino.

It's a period-correct Precision body and neck with immaculate fretwork, Torrified/Roasted Maple Neck, Indian rosewood fingerboard, lightweight Hipshot tuners, and a nice Vintage-Voiced Dual Coil Pickup. It weighs in at a comfortable 8.4lb, and it plays like a dream.

It was built using a '60s mahogany Decca ss body & control-plate, Epi T-bird neck, Guild RI Darkstar pu, Hipshot KA bridge and Gotoh tuners. I cut the mint pearl pg to orig specs.

I don't know if any of you are familiar with the John Hornsby Skewes Company in the UK, but a few years back they teamed up with Trevor Wilkinson to create a line of guitars and basses in various price ranges.
