Apr 13, 2022 · If your in the bucket allot a simple pair of steel toe ariat slip on is good to go. I run a crew and I still run the bucket and climb and ground work. So. I have wore the meindl San Ramon for going on 7 years. Just bought my second pair 3 months ago. It is water proof, just high enough. Steel toe all leather single shank and a great vibrant sole.

Dec 5, 2011 · You will probably find that with a lot of quality safety toe boots made now, the toe cap is actually carbon fiber, not steel. Whatever the case, I wore safety toe boots year round at work for many years (35+) and never noticed any problems as long as there was enough insulation in the boot.
Anatomically “correct” hunting boots with zero drop
Feb 12, 2022 · Meindl's were hurting my feet (despite insoles) and I wanted a bigger toe box than what Meindl provides. I bought Oboz Bridger 10" insulated waterproof boots through REI. I put Powerstep Pinacle Breeze insoles in them. The boots did not need to be broken in, but I hiked a lot in preparation for my hunt.

Sep 8, 2023 · It doesn’t seem to matter what boot I wear, my feet get cold. I’ve tried up to 800 gr. insulation. Nothing worked until I got some arctic shields. Now I can wear my most comfortable boot for the hike in and out and put the Arctic shields on when in stand.

I wear size 13-14 depending on brand for most of my footwear. Main interests in boot characteristics would be 1.) Comfort and 2.) waterproof.

Apr 16, 2019 · Went to REI and tried a few pairs of backpacking boots out. Picked up some Lowa Renegades and man have they held up and still waterproof. I hunt 100 times a year on public grounds so I cover a lot of ground. Also use them constantly hiking with my kid on my back or shed hunting. Hunting brand boots never lasted for me and felt like boots.

Mar 3, 2023 · Zamberlan vioz are the most comfortable longest lasting boot Ive owned. Crispi kenai proved fairly comfy but failed fairly quick. For a stiffer boot I am currently breaking in a pair of hanwag ancash. I am fairly confident these will be great. danner pronghorns are a great cheap boot. I just dislike their durabilty
