191. Sep 3, 2015. #6. Hill Country Guitars is nice, especially if you are into acoustics and Collings electrics. Cool laid back store and relatively close to Guitar House and Austin Vintage now that they've moved to Austin from Wimberly, TX.

Messages. 19,965. Dec 27, 2020. #10. Guitar House has Suhr, Collings, and is probably the most “TGP” shop with Carr amps, Two-Rock, and other boutique stuff. They’re pretty curated both new and used. Also the only shop with a presence on here. Guitar Rez has crazy PRS, Alembic, G&L, fender CS, cool random stuff, and Santa Cruz acoustics.

May 7, 2012 · These guys have hit all the good stops already. The guy that runs Austin Vintage is Steve Fulton, of Fullton-Webb amps. Eric Johnson goes there a lot. They built some amps with EJ's name on 'em. They have a killer used/vintage selection and Steve loves to talk guitars. You will feel like you've known him for years within 5 minutes.
What guitar tech (for setup) do you trust in Austin, TX

Thing is, I didn't have to leave it, I was coming from a bit out of town, Georgetown, and I'd drive down in the morning, go hit the shops, pick it up at dinner time. And was VERY reasonable on the price. EVERY piece came out playing better than it ever had. I had 6 or 7 guitars done.

Feb 8, 2019 · In Nashville I liked the old Gruhn's better than the new (but the new location does have nice guitars). Carters has huge selection but always feels too cluttered for my taste. Willcutt in Lexington is a nice shop and nice service, nice vibe there. Wish it was close to me. For a unique experience, Distinctive Guitars. Really, really nice guitars.
