Each summer, skywatchers around the world look forward to the famous Perseid meteor shower, but often overlook four lesser showers that peak between July 29 and Aug. 16.

During its peak, you may see upwards of 50 to 100 meteors per hour if you're in a place where it's dark enough.

Two meteor showers, the Perseids and the delta Aquariids, begin this week with peak viewing in late July and August.
