The Texas House approved the plan, part of a push by President Trump’s allies to offer up to about $10,000 for private school, home-school or virtual learning.

The bill would let families use taxpayer dollars for their children’s private schooling. Lawmakers also signed off on a sweeping $7.7 billion package to boost public school funding.

While the House and Senate still need to agree on a final plan, the vote was a huge victory for the governor, who has pushed for months to pass 'school choice'.
