Habitat for Humanity York County joins world-wide effort to honor the late President Jimmy Carter George W. Bush gave fellow former president Barack Obama a friendly belly tap at the Jan. 9 funeral of Jimmy Carter, and the internet was obsessed with the viral moment.

Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for more than 35 years in 14 countries on more than 4,300 homes.

For the national day of mourning, Butte County Habitat for Humanity held a ceremony at its Chico office to honor Carter, who spent decades with the organization building homes for those in need.
