California state lawmakers have announced a bill that would ban the sale of new or refurbished disposable electronic cigarettes.

Sen. Brian Jones’s bill would overhaul California’s “sanctuary state” law passed in 2017, which limits how much local law enforcement works with ICE around the state.

The proposed law, SB 554, is titled “Safety Before Criminal Sanctuary,” and is a direct response to a policy passed by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors last December.
