Cold weather is expected to impact the Fort Worth Stock Show and MLK Day parades, but organizers assure participants that it will not dampen the celebrations.

Lows Tuesday morning were in the 20s and lows Wednesday are expected to be in the 30s, an improvement but it's still cold. North Texas should see highs rebound into the 60s on Thursday and Friday, but it's short-lived.

The work-week will end on a mild note Friday with highs in the 60s (70s out west). For warm-weather fans though, the mood will quickly sour as we head into the weekend.

As North Texas expects below-freezing temperatures starting Saturday, there are questions as to how it will affect a stacked weekend of big events, such as the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and MLK parades.

North Texas began Wednesday with temperatures near or below freezing across most of the region. However, the area quickly warmed up under bountiful sunshine. The southeastern parts of North Texas saw a warmer morning due to increased cloud cover.

Mild weather ends as an arctic front arrives late Friday, bringing cold air and the chance for snow on Tuesday of next week. Temperatures will drop well below normal, and residents should take precautions for freezing temperatures,

Wind chills will bein the single digits on Monday and Tuesday morning.
