Advance Auto Parts said it will close hundreds of stores and cut jobs after posting a surprising quarterly loss and forecasting revenue below market expectations.

The ubiquitous Advance Auto Parts will be less so in the next couple of years. The automotive parts retailer will shutter more than 700 locations by 2027. The move is part of an adjusted business plan following another disappointing earnings report.

Advance Auto Parts, a leading automotive aftermarket-parts provider in North America that serves both professional installers and do-it-yourself customers, said it will close more than 700 of its 5,000 stores in a “strategic plan to improve business performance.
