A gas line rupture caused by contractor work has forced the closure of South Terminal Road near Terminal A at George Bush Intercontinental Airport Wednesday morning, according to airport officials. Frontier Airlines is attempting for a second time to merge with the now bankrupt Spirit Airlines, which declared bankruptcy late last year as budget airlines struggle.

The Terminal B lobby at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) will temporarily close on Jan. 21, marking a significant milestone in United Airlines ’ $2.5 billion project to redevelop the terminal. The lobby is expected to reopen in 2026, according to a Houston Airport System press release.

The redevelopment of the terminal will result in closure of check-in and TSA areas from Jan. 21 until sometime in 2026.
