Kyle Teel and Edgar Quero, two of the top players at the core of the White Sox rebuild, have started in the same lineup 28 times, including Minnesota’s 9-7 victory on Elvis Night Friday at Rate Field.

Lewis hit his sixth career grand slam to lead the Twins past the White Sox in a battle between teams who came in with the AL's worst records.

Royce Lewis hit a grand slam, Byron Buxton, Luke Keaschall, and Edouard Julien each had two hits, and the Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago White Sox 9-7.

The Twins nearly blew a four-run lead in the eighth inning. Lefty reliever Génesis Cabrera recorded only one out, giving up a hit and two walks. Justin Topa surrendered a bases-loaded walk and two RBI singles to his first three batters before inducing a foul ball against Colson Montgomery.

Lewis, who admitted prior to Friday’s game that he has not felt right at the plate at any point this season, hit his first grand slam since his historic run in September of 2023 to propel the Twins to a 9-7 win against the White Sox at Rate Field. He also made an outstanding defensive play in the eighth inning to help preserve that slim margin.

The Sox are confident their plan for the All-Star rookie won’t include skipping starts or shutting him down early.
