Texas Republicans have escalated the penalties against Democrats as they enter a second week camped out in states across the country to block new U.S. House maps pushed for by President Donald

Texas House Democrats left the state Sunday in a desperate bid to block an aggressively partisan redrawing of the state’s congressional map orchestrated by Republicans with the support of President Donald Trump.

The maps achieve a five-seat swing largely by shaving slivers of Republican strongholds from ruby red districts and placing them inside three urban districts.
