Gibson was fatally shot in the chest around 11:19 p.m. while inside her home on the corner of the 300 block of Hummel Street, next to Swatara Street. Police said someone shooting from the street killed Gibson. She was not believed to be the intended target.

The Houston Police Department said four men in their mid to late 20s were shot multiple times in a grassy, gated lot.

St. John, Indiana police were called for a domestic disturbance in the 14000 block of West 93rd Place. A St. John police officer arrived at the scene, and a fight ensured that led to gunfire. A 40-year-old man was wounded and was taken to an area hospital.
