The FBI on Friday said reports of racist and offensive text messages sent from anonymous phone numbers are now being sent to members of Latino and LGBTQ communities.

The FBI issued a statement Friday saying racist and threatening text messages sent to Black communities after the presidential election are also circulating in Hispanic and LGBTQ+ communities and reaching high school students.

“These racist texts are coordinated attacks aimed at intimidating and spreading fear among Black children and their families. They’re not just pro-racist, they are pro-Trump racist. And that’s even worse.” says the mother, who asked to remain anonymous to protect her son’s privacy.
