The NBA Playoffs officially tipped off with a sizzling four-game slate on Saturday. In the night’s finale, the Los Angeles Lakers fell to a heavy defeat in front of their home fans, losing 117-95 to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of their Western Conference best-of-seven series.

Jaden McDaniels opened the third quarter with a 3 to extend Minnesota's lead to 65-48. Two more 3s by Julius Randle and Anthony Edwards and another bucket by McDaniels extended the run to 11-0 and Minnesota's lead to 70-48.

The Timberwolves' postseason dreams could be crashing if Anthony Edwards' injury scar against the Lakers is serious.
