FUNNY GIRL made Barbra Streisand a star when she ran this semi-autobiographical musical take of a real-life early American comedienne on Broadway in 1964 and then London’s West End in 1966.

On July 11, Funny Girl confirmed the long-rumored news (first reported by Gawker) that Michele would be stepping into the role of Fanny Brice, with her first performance slated for Sept. 6.
