US flags will fly at full-staff at the Capitol during Donald Trump's presidential inauguration, the leader of the House of Representatives announced Tuesday, after he complained about having them lowered to honor late president Jimmy Carter.

Flags are supposed to fly at half-staff through the end of January out of respect for former President Jimmy Carter, who died on Dec. 29. A large flag on Trump’s property in Palm Beach was initially lowered to half-staff according to protocol but has since been raised in the days after Carter was buried Thursday in his hometown of Plains, Georgia.

Several Republican Governors have pledged to fly their flags at full-staff, despite President Biden’s former directive.
