New Jersey Democratic officials slammed a workplace raid conducted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at a seafood market in Newark on Thursday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents raided a Newark, New Jersey, business venue on Thursday and detained undocumented immigrants as well as U.S. citizens without warrants, the city's mayor said.

Baraka issued a statement late Thursday afternoon denouncing the raid as an “egregious act” conducted without a warrant and in violation of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees “the right of the people be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.”
