According to a geophysics professor at Boston College, an earthquake does not create damage until it reaches a magnitude of at least five. Monday's quake was a magnitude 3.8. The professor says the shake-up should be a wakeup call for policy makers to have an earthquake safety plan in place if a severe one ever hits Maine.

It was also felt in New Hampshire and Rhode Island, a USGS map showed. The earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 happened at 10:22 a.m. It was initially reported as a magnitude of 4.1 and then 3.9.

A 3.8-magnitude earthquake originating in York Harbor, Maine shook New England today, with tremors felt as far south as Boston.

Flagg's appearance in Chestnut Hill is drawing plenty of interest, thanks both to his growing national stardom and his local roots. The game has been sold out since December, and the get-in price is over $160.

Flagg scored 28 points, five rebounds, and four assists for the Blue Devils, who are 16-2 and have won 12 games in a row.

Mansfield was one of the many Mainers to make the trip south to Boston College on Saturday to see Flagg and Duke take on the Eagles. It was as close as Flagg, who in a short time playing college ball has only cemented his place as the top prospect in the upcoming NBA draft, will come this season to playing near his hometown, Newport.
