Washington Commanders starting right guard Sam Cosmi has a torn ACL and is out for the remainder of the NFL playoffs.

The Washington Commanders are on cloud nine after their 45-31 Divisional Round win over the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. After such a great season, the Commanders have continued their feel-good story into the playoffs - but now we have some bad news regarding right guard Sam Cosmi.

The Commanders will likely be without a starting offensive lineman as they try to advance to the Super Bowl.

Washington Commanders' starting right guard, Sam Cosmi, tore his ACL during the NFC divisional-round win over the Detroit Lions on January 18, 2025, which ruled him out for the rest of the playoffs. Trent Scott stepped in as his replacement.

Cosmi suffered a knee injury in Saturday's divisional-round game against the Lions and is questionable to return. Cosmi got rolled up on during Washington's touchdown run in the second quarter. He was pinned backward for a few seconds and then had to be helped off the field.

The Commanders will play in their first NFC championship since the 1991 season next Sunday. They'll do so without one of their best offensive linemen.
