Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras was suspended three games by the NHL on Monday for his hit to the head of Detroit Red Wings center Michael Rasmussen during the Red Wings’ 5-4 overtime win on Sunday.

The NHL's Department of Player Safety issued a three-game suspension to Anaheim Ducks center Trevor Zegras for his high hit on Detroit Red Wings center Michael Rasmussen.

Trevor Zegras has now officially served his three-game suspension for a late and high hit to Detroit Red Wings forward Michael Rasmussen in the second period of the Ducks’ 5-4 OT loss on Feb. 23.

Rasmussen had only played eight minutes in the game before he took a hit to the head from Zegras. No penalty was called on the play. Earlier Monday morning, it was revealed that Zegras will have a hearing with Player Safety for the hit.
