The Boston Celtics are heading back home after a successful four-game West Coast road trip. The Celtics capped it off on Saturday night against the Dallas Mavericks in a pounding in the 2024 NBA Finals rematch.

The Celtics might be without two players, Derrick White and Al Horford, when they take on the Rockets on Monday night.

White (shin) has been ruled out for Monday's game against Houston, Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe reports.

Despite being down Derrick White and Sam Hauser on Monday night against the Houston Rockets, the Boston Celtics still put up quite the fight. They were fighting an uphill battle against the younger and more athletic Rockets team all night long,

White (shin) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Rockets, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. White likely picked up the injury during the Celtics' 122-107 win over the Mavericks. Sam Hauser and Al Horford (toe) would be the top two candidates to enter the Celtics' starting lineup if White is unable to play.

The Celtics pushed their lead to as many as 12 points early in the fourth quarter Rockets did not go down without a fight late, answering with a 13-0 run to retake the lead. It was a back-and-forth battle down the stretch with the two sides trading baskets before Thompson hit the game-winner with 0.7 seconds left in regulation.

The Celtics will be down two rotation players, so expect C’s coach Joe Mazzulla to dip into his bench. The last time the Celtics were shorthanded like this, Jaden Springer emerged off the bench in an impressive game against the Clippers in Los Angeles. Jordan Walsh and Baylor Scheierman could also see some playing time in the rotation.

Ahead of the primetime matchup, the Celtics and Rockets revealed their official injury reports for Monday night's game. Boston star Derrick White will miss the game due to a shin injury. He was added to the injury report on Sunday and will now miss his third game of the regular season.

The Rockets sit second in the Western Conference and just beat the Cavaliers twice in four days, knocking them from the top spot in the NBA.
