PlayStation VR2 launched at $550 two years ago this month. It was a great virtual reality headset but an intimidating price. Now Sony is dropping it to $400 starting in March amid reports that sales have completely stalled.

An overdue price drop just hit, but it's still a big investment for a novelty that Sony hasn't invested enough game development into.

The VR2 improved on the original in almost every way, but Sony and its studios have rarely taken advantage of the hardware.
