One of the more minor but most surprising storylines from Philadelphia Flyers training camp has been the continued presence of former Edmonton Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft. Woodcroft, 48, served as the Oilers’ bench boss for parts of three seasons,

It is important to note that Woodcroft is not currently at the Flyers' training camp for job purposes. Instead, Flyers head coach John Tortorella explained that Woodcroft asked him to attend camp as simply a guest. Here is what Tortorella said on the matter:

Other notable line combinations included Sean Couturier between Konecny and Foerster; Scott Laughton centering Bobby Brink and Elliot Desnoyers; Ryan Poehling with Garnet Hathaway and Nic Deslauriers; and first-round pick Jett Luchanko flanked by wingers Noah Cates and Joel Farabee.
