Redmond has issued a list of known issues and limitations for the upcoming Windows App, but you’ll need to use it.

The new Windows app, which launched in September, includes multimonitor support, dynamic display resolutions, and easy access to cloud PCs and virtual desktops. Microsoft says “connections to Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Microsoft Dev Box via the Remote Desktop app from the Microsoft Store will be blocked after May 27th, 2025.”

The end is nigh for Microsoft's Remote Desktop application. The IT giant will pull support on May 27 when users must transition to the corp's Windows App, with all the positives and negatives that entails.

Microsoft announced that the Skype app would no longer be available and would be replaced with Microsoft Teams by May. Yesterday, Microsoft made a similar announcement; however, this time, it will be replacing the Windows Remote Desktop app with the Windows App.
