Michigan’s softball team lost all three games against Oregon in early April that put a dent into its season. On Thursday, the Wolverines, the No. 8 seed in the Big Ten Tournament, blanked the top-seeded Ducks 5-0 to keep their season alive and advance to the conference semifinals.

The top-seeded Ducks went 1 for 15 with runners on base, including 0 for 7 in scoring position, in a 5-0 loss to No. 8 seed Michigan in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament

Tholl had her players believe in the process a year ago when she guided the Wolverines to a 43-18 record, including 33 wins in their final 42 games. They won the Big Ten tournament title and advanced to the NCAA tournament, where they lost to Oklahoma State in the regional final.
