After 37 seasons, Jaromir Jagr’s storied career as a professional hockey player may finally be coming to a close. The 52-year-old said by phone Thursday that he intends to retire after the current Czech Extraliga season.

Jaromir Jagr has opened his 37th professional season. In what is expected to be his last season, the 52-year-old winger set up a power play goal for hometown team Kladno Knights in a 5-1 away loss to Pardubice in the Czech league.
