San Diego County residents who want to get rid of expired, unused or unwanted drugs will have the chance to safely discard them Saturday at multiple locations during National Drug Take Back Day.

Dozens of agencies and pharmacies are participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, giving Coloradans plenty of locations where they can drop off unneeded prescription drugs.

You can take your expired medication to one of the take back locations today between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Volunteers will then sort and dispose of it for you. The take back locations will accept tablets, pills, and liquid medication. Tom Mengwasser, a pharmacist with Alps Pharmacy, says they can’t take sharps, inhalers or glass.
