The SEC's announcement that it would be moving to a nine-game conference schedule was always going to bring some non-conference scheduling ramifications, and Tuesday we saw that in action as Alabama and West Virginia announced they mutually agreed to cancel their home-and-home series set for 2026 and 2027.

The decision comes after last week's announcement that Southeastern Conference teams would move from an eight to nine-game league schedule starting next year.
