The good news is that there's a big, 60-minute Nintendo Direct on Friday morning at 9am ET. That's a lot of time for Nintendo to fill, and while there will be some Switch 1 games in the mix, let's talk about the Switch 2 games we really need to see from Nintendo during the livestream.

With Nintendo promising an hour-long livestream, the September 12 Direct will be the longest in the company’s history outside of the April one earlier this year for revealing the Switch 2 hardware. It also comes just ahead of the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.

The Switch 2 is rounding out its year, and there are a few new and enhanced ports of great JRPGs on the system. All the best Switch JRPGs still work great on the system too, plus there are upcoming games like Dragon Quest 1-2 HD-2D Remake and Octopath Traveler 0.
