The Indianapolis Colts have completed their roster cuts to get from 91 players to 53 by Tuesday's 4:00 p.m. E.T. deadline. The team announced the moves of nearly 40 players, getting the roster within the proper boundaries.

Well, when a player is ‘waived’, they are subject to the waiver wire, where any team can claim them and assume their current contract. Currently, the waiver wire order (listed below) is dependent on the NFL Draft order from this past April, but without any trades.

It’s another slight injury setback for a promising young Colts linebacker who once was the projected starter for Week 1.

One former USC player fell into the latter category and is on the move. Monday evening, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Minnesota Vikings are trading former USC cornerback Mekhi Blackmon to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a sixth round draft pick.

Woods was drafted in the third round of 2022’s NFL Draft by the Colts. At the time, it was an exciting pick due to Woods’ athletic profile. The 6-foot-7, 253 pound tight end scored a perfect 10.00 relative athletic score, a tool used to evaluate a prospect’s athletic ability. Woods became the top-ranked tight end ever tested at the time.

Originally the 73rd overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Colts, the mammoth sized 6’7,” 253 pound tight end had a fairly promising rookie debut that same year for Indianapolis, catching 25 receptions for 312 total receiving yards and 3 touchdown receptions during 15 games (2 starts).

The Vikings cut their roster down to 53 players today. But this is not the final 53-man roster, just the initial one. General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah is scheduled to have a news conference on Thursday to discuss the roster,
