Brussels has proposed that funding for European transport infrastructure should be doubled in the bloc’s next seven-year budget, which starts in 2028. That would bring the amount dedicated to cross-border travel to €51.5bn if it is signed off by EU member states and the European parliament.
On the other hand, the trade agreement has been more than a quarter of a century in the making. In September the European Commission at last sent the text to the council, where it will be discussed by trade ministers from the 27 member states.

European Union countries have agreed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 90% by 2040 compared to 1990 levels, including 5% that can be achieved through international offsets, Danish Climate Minister Lars Aagaard said on Wednesday.
