The days of dull, blank Downtown New Orleans walls are behind us. Thanks to dozens of artists commissioned by the city, vibrant murals are taking over spaces that will soon be seen by tens of thousands of Super Bowl visitors and locals alike.

Events will be scattered throughout downtown the week before the game, likely creating heavy traffic for locals. Among the largest is the NFL's Super Bowl Experience at the Convention Center from Wednesday through Saturday and the NFL Honors awards night on Thursday at the Saenger Theater.

Super Bowl host New Orleans is no stranger to thousands of out-of-town revelers descending upon the city and authorities there did not balk when asked if they’d be greasing their poles.
