The mother of late hockey star Matthew Gaudreau offered heartwarming words on social media following the recent birth of her new grandson, Tripp.

Four months after the tragic deaths of former Boston College hockey players Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau, Matthew’s widow, Madeline Gaudreau, gave birth to the couple’s first child. Madeline shared a photo of the couple’s newborn son, Tripp Matthew Gaudreau, on Instagram.

Matthew and Johnny were killed while biking on the evening of Aug. 29 in Oldmans Township, N.J., after they were hit by alleged drunk driver Sean M. Higgins. The brothers were laid to rest on Sept. 9 at a joint funeral, where she and Johnny's widow Meredith gave emotional speeches honoring their late husbands.
