The Cincinnati Bengals got what seems like one of the biggest steals in the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting Tahj Brooks in the 6th round with the 193rd overall pick.

Brooks finished his time at Tech with 4,557 rushing yards across 56 games, breaking Byron Hanspard’s program record late in his final season with the Red Raiders. Brooks scored 47 total touchdowns which ranks third in program history and is one of seven players with more than 5,000 career all purpose yards for Tech (5,126).

The Texas Tech football program's all-in approach to the transfer portal and winning in 2025 has led to the Red Raiders having an extraordinary number of seniors on the roster for this coming season. That number's 31, to be exact, subject to more fluctuation with more portal activity.
