Reese Witherspoon announced that Lexi Minetree has been cast as young Elle Woods in the "Legally Blonde" prequel series, "Elle."

Teaming up with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production company, Amazon MGM Studios is working on a new prequel series that will focus on Elle Woods’s high school days. Witherspoon opened up about the inspiration behind the project in a January 2025 interview on The Tonight Show.

The mom-of-three starred in the sequel to the romcom, “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde,” in 2003. While reflecting on the 20th anniversary of “Legally Blonde,” Witherspoon gushed over how the film change the course of her life.
