Two B-2 bombers were flown into Alaska's Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson ahead of Friday's summit between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to two officials. The stealth bombers are the same kind used by the U.S. to strike Iran's nuclear sites in June's Operation Midnight Hammer.

President Donald Trump is set to travel to Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday morning to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the first US-Russia summit since former President Joe Biden took office in 2021.

Of the previous encounters between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, none drew more scrutiny than their summit seven years ago in Helsinki. The two men secluded themselves for hours, with no advisers in attendance.
