The Texans will have two weeks to get their lineup right before their first meeting of the year arrives with a road date against Nick Caley's former squad in the Los Angeles Rams. Time will tell if Mixon will be among those names in the lineup and ready to go.

Former third-round pick Hendon Hooker entered training camp as the favorite to back up Jared Goff, but he’s struggled, and Kyle Allen has excelled. Over the last two preseason games, Allen has gone 21-for-25 for 244 yards with four touchdown passes. Meanwhile, Hooker is 16-of-29 for 117 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions.

That being said, Houston's offensive line is still viewed as a major area of weakness for the team heading into 2025, as evidenced by the fact that quarterback C.J. Stroud was sacked 52 times in 2024. That certainly played a significant role in his sophomore slump.
