Former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy has died. Lacy was facing a court date Monday for a fatal hit-and-run accident.

Former Louisiana State University (LSU) wide receiver Kyren Lacy died from an apparent “self-inflicted gunshot wound” following a police pursuit in Texas, local authorities said Sunday. He was 24.

The 24-year-old was facing legal trouble from a Dec. 17 incident in which he was accused of causing a crash that led to the death of a 78-year-old man. Authorities said Lacy fled the scene and was later charged with negligent homicide, reckless vehicle operation and felony hit-and-run resulting in death.
