An emergency rule classifies 7-OH as a Schedule 1 drug, similar to meth and fentanyl, effective immediately. Florida officials report increased emergency room visits linked to kratom, particularly among young people.

Attorney General James Uthmeier said Wednesday that his office is reclassifying concentrated 7-hydroxymitragynine products as a Schedule 1 drug in an effort toremove the product from stores in Florida.

The winner of the $10,000 ultimate grand prize this year was Taylor Stanberry, who removed a whopping 60 pythons.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) announced Taylor Stanberry removed 60 invasive Burmese pythons and claimed the $10,000 Ultimate Grand Prize. The FWC announced that 934 participants from 30 states and Canada removed a record 294 pythons during the 10-day competition.
