The Premier League Match Centre account on X, formerly known as Twitter, has explained that the reason Solanke's goal was disallowed was for a handball in the moments leading to the strike. As a result, Solanke's effort was ruled out and the score remained 2-0 until Bentancur's effort 20 minutes later.

After a slightly difficult start at Tottenham, Gary Lineker was delighted to see Solanke among the goals when speaking on ‘The Rest is Football’ podcast. Lineker praised the striker’s mental strength for several tough periods he’s overcome in his career, claiming that he looks well-equipped to succeed in north London.
