A fast-spreading wildfire in California's wine country sparked evacuation orders as firefighters continued to battle the blaze Saturday. The Pickett fire in Northern California's Napa County has burned nearly 4,700 acres since it broke out Thursday, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

While California saw devastating wildfires in Los Angeles at the start of the year, the state has experienced an average summer fire season, with only one blaze, the Gifford fire, surpassing 100,000 acres. Fire activity is expected to pick up in coming days as the state bakes in a heat wave.

Firefighters in Napa County, California have been working around the clock for days to contain a wildfire that continues to grow. The Pickett Fire, as it is known, grew to 3,993 acres overnight on Friday.
