After the loss to Utah and Tuesday’s blowout at BYU, the Jayhawks are in serious danger of falling below a top-4 seed for the first time in the Self era. It’s also more than likely the Jayhawks, who dropped to No. 23 in the AP Top 25, will go unranked for the first time since 2021.

The Cougars were trying to be the team that helps push KU out of them. These teams played each other for the first time this season, and odds are KU won't want to face this BYU team again anytime soon.

As Kansas struggled to adjust defensively, BYU punished the Jayhawks with open threes and in transition. By the intermission, BYU was shooting nearly 42% from three with 75% of its field goal attempts coming from deep.
