Amazon will assemble that big constellation over more than 80 launches, the majority of them performed by the Atlas V and its successor, ULA's new Vulcan Centaur. Amazon has also procured launches from Arianespace, Blue Origin and SpaceX.

The April 28 launch of an Amazon rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida, may be visible in the Carolinas.

This launch will serve as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos kicking off Project Kuiper, a global constellation of over 3,200 broadband satellites.
