Bowman wrecked out in a multi-car pileup on Lap 27, one which claimed the cars of Bubba Wallace, Austin Cindric and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., among others. He struck the outside wall near the frontstretch tri-oval, came to a halt along the backstretch, and was towed into the garage area. The damage proved to great to repair, and Bowman finished 36th.

Alex Bowman sure would love to be feeling comfortable heading into Saturday’s regular season finale at Daytona International Speedway. Bowman is ninth in the points standings, and his 14 top 10s are tied for the second-most among NASCAR Cup Series drivers.
